The weather in Nashville has been surprisingly cool. It's nice to feel a breeze after a couple months of constant humidity. So we all know that summer must come to an end... which leads to the preparation for the coming school semester. Organization is key, and this year I am getting everything in order so as not to become overwhelmed. I have already purchased a pretty, new planner and am in the process of cleaning and reorganizing closets, drawers, etc. It feels great!
Anyway, did you know that your forearm is the same length as your foot? Try it! Mine is :)
For dinner tonight, I made Greek (ish) chicken and veggie pitas. So yummy!
It was easy... I diced grape tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and mozzarella, tossed it in a balsamic vinaigrette, and stuffed it in a pita with Greek seasoned chicken breast. I served it with a side of new potatoes.
Now it is time for a movie. I can't wait to finish Pan's Labyrinth. It's great so far!
Good night.

No No Gnocchi
Tonight I tried gnocchi. I don't recommend it.
Basically it is like a doughy, potato, pasta dumpling. It all started when I was watching Top Chef and saw it being made by one of the contestants. It looked good and I loved saying the word gnocchi! It's so fun to say! Unfortunately it did not taste like how it looked and I ended up having to cook some regular pasta instead.
Seeing as the word gnocchi means "lumps", I should have stopped right there. I felt like I was eating soft, chewy, raw dough! I mean, the Italians really missed the ball on this one. How disappointing... although its name will remain fun to say :)
Let me just say, Italian food is some of my favorite but the gnocchi was a no go.
Oh well, all was salvaged with a Reeses peanut butter cup to finish off the night!
The End.

There's a first time for everything.

I have never begun a blog before. It's something that has always seemed intimidating to me. So while I am in the vein of trying new things lately, I thought, why not? I can have interesting things to say. I hope :)
My idea is that this will be a place for me to talk about some of my favorite things. Love. Travel. Coffee. Music. Movies. Cooking. Designing. Reading. Writing.
Which is why I have chosen to name my blog after simple things I love. No matter how cheesy it may be, it's mine. So I can choose whatever I want. :)
Because I find joy in the little things in life.
And I like lovely, dainty things.
Like pearls... and peonies.
